Hello! My name is Tim. I'm going to tell you about my family. I'm also going to tell you what is going on with my life. I have a brother named Sam. He wants to go to war and fight against the family. My family goes to church every Sunday to show our respect to God. I have lived in a town called Redding my whole life. This is where my father was born. Father has lived here his whole life too. My mother on the other hand, was not born in Redding; she was born in New York. My mother’s name is Susannah, my father‘s name is Eliphalet, but everyone just calls him Life. My brother's name is Sam. He just got back from Yale. The reason Sam wants to fight against us is because he doesn’t think that we are free. He wants things to be different. Father and Sam always fight. When Sam told us that he was going to fight Father got really mad. I have never seen Father that mad before. It was kind of scary seeing him like that. Sam had his suit on that he was going to be fighting with. That's when father told him to take it off because no one in this house will fight against the British. Sam wouldn’t take off the suit. Sam said that he wants to be free, and he is done living a life that he has his whole life. I really don’t know what Sam means by "I’m done living a life like this”. I love the life I’m living. Well, sometimes I don"t because there are lots of rules we have to go by. My father got really mad when Sam said that, and he wouldn't take off the suit. My father told Sam that he could take off the suit and stay at the house, or he could not take off the suit and get out of the house. Sam just looked at Father for awhile. Then he opened the door and left. I couldn’t believe what I just saw. How could Sam just leave the family like that? The weirdest part was when Sam left Father started to cry. Father had never cried before, or if he has, I never seen him. The worst part of the whole thing was that Sam was probably going to fight in the war no matter what we do to try to stop him. That means I might lose my big brother to the war!
