Whenever night had fallen, I went to Colonel Parson’s to talk about Sam. Colonel explained that Sam had been arrested for stealing cows. When I started to get fired up about that, he said that Sam could not talk to the General tonight because he was already in bed. When I came back in the morning, the colonel explained to me that the general had already moved and that if he wanted to catch he him he would have to hurry. Then I went home to talk to his mom. After they talked a little while, they both decided that she should go and try get Sam loose. When she went off, I got ready to butcher the cattle. He did not find very much time to because everybody came in wanted rum.
